Next week (11th-17th June) commemorates the tenth annual #MyMoneyWeek.
What is My Money Week?
My Money Week is a national event targeting primary and secondary schools with the aim of equipping young people with the financial skills, knowledge and confidence necessary to thrive in our modern society – a bit like what we’re trying to do here at RedSTART!
What are we doing to celebrate?
In addition to promoting #MyMoneyWeek via our website and social media, we will also be hosting a Moneyssentials session, while one of our strategic partners, Legal & General, will be hosting a RedSTART Money Matters session during the week.
How can you get involved?
Young Enterprise, the founder of My Money Week, have created a wealth of digital materials available through their website. This year there are a number of videos available along with lesson plans which can be used to explore some of the featured topics further. You can also access resources from previous years through their website.
In addition to the free materials available online, Young Enterprise also encourage you to design your own activities and share your ideas by tweeting them @youngmoneyedu using the hashtag My Money Week.
My Money Week is intended to highlight financial education, but it doesn’t have to be the only week you focus on it! Why not take this as an opportunity to reach out to us here at RedSTART via our website to get your school/company involved with the work we’re doing throughout the year to help one million young people gain confidence in handling their money.
Still not convinced? You can read our earlier blogs to find out more about why you should get involved with RedSTART:
